The first night out on our roadtrip as I tucked Patrick into his bed in his tent, I told him, "I love you. Sleep well. Wait until you hear us up in the morning before you get up, please." And since it was our first night and I wanted to make sure he felt comfortable knowing we would be right there in ear shot of him, I also told him, "If you need anything, Buddy, just let me know."
About 5 mintues went by then I heard, "Mom, I need anything."
We all got a good laugh out of it and he got another hug and kiss out of it.
Such a funny guy; he's always making me laugh.
On one of the days of our roadtrip we had hiked about a mile down into a Canyon and back up. He said he was so tired from all that hiking that he needed to lay down and rest, so he did, right there on the trail:
And, every place we stopped at he would find a flexible stick or weed to use as a fishing pole in all the puddles, creeks, waterfalls and rivers we passed along the way. When we asked him what kind of fish he was catching he said they were "gauba" fish. He used his made up word "gauba" the whole trip. At one point he asked me very seriously if I had seen Gauba as if that were someone's name. We looked all over the room for his imaginary friend before he said he must not be there anymore.
