A birthday card from his buddy Matthew.
Yesterday was Patrick's 3rd birthday.
We celebrated by having a water party and BBQ in our backyard on Saturday with his friend Jackson who just turned 3 too. Then on Sunday we went to a church picnic and out to dinner at Patrick's favorite restaurant, Giavanni's Pizza.
I am so blessed to be his mommy. He's such a wonderful little guy with a fun personality, a charming smile, and beautiful big blue eyes. I'm looking forward to his 3s. The thing I keep thinking about is that some of the first memories I have of my childhood were from when I was 3. It's crazy to think that he's going to start remembering things from here on out. Well, at least the things that have a big impact on him.
Tonight when Patrick got out of the shower, he asked me to help him dry off. When I was done drying him off he wanted me to wrap him up like a baby like we used to do all the time and carry him to the bed. As I was carrying him and kissing him, I asked him if he was still going to want me to do this when he was 18. He said, "Uh, huh." Somehow I don't think he will. So, I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
Happy Birthday, Patrick. We love you very much.

Happy Birthday Patrick! I can't believe it has been a year since we were there celebrating with you. Love to you all!
Thanks again Katy! I don't know about Jackson, but I'll remember this birthday party for a LONG time!! :)
P.S. Jackson has that cheesey 3 year old smile too. We've got his 3 year portraits tomorrow. We'll see how they turn out.
So much fun! Too bad we don't live closer. I'm having fun planning Kelsey's party too!
