Shaver Lake

We've been out of town on vacations the last three weekends. I'm finally getting around to posting about them. The first was a camping trip to Shaver Lake with Grammie Mary and Papa Chuck.

Pros:

The lake was gorgeous.

We got a spot pretty close to the water with a great view.

The weather was unseasonably cool and comfortable.

Cons:

The pit toilets stunk. I mean really stunk. So much so that it made your eyes water.

We got a nice souvenir dent on the top of our truck, thanks to a hungry squirrel.

Fishing with a real hook and bait for the first time.

She learned to say "water" on this trip. Here she is pointing at the river saying it.

Kimberly with her Papa Chuck.

Just hanging out watching Daddy doing some fly fishing on the river.

Kimberly is all about climbing right now.

It never takes long for him to find a "fishing pole" and rocks to throw in the water.

It's amazing how solid pinecones are before they've opened. This little guy gnawed this softball size pinecone off from high up in the tree right above our truck. It made a horrible sound when it hit.

And, left quite a dent. Thankfully, it hit on the roof and not the hood, so it's not quite so noticeable.
