Mother's Day BBQ

We celebrated mother's Day by having our first BBQ at the new house. We invited our families over, Chuck built a grate for the built-in BBQ pit and fired it up to cook some ribs, sausage and chicken. YUM!

See the white fence there in the background? When we bought the house, it had no fences between the front and back yards or between the backyard and the alley (which is the main access for all of our neighbor's homes so it is well traveled. So, first on our major project list was caging the children and dog in to keep them safe. Fence building is moving along; posts are set, the rails are up, and today I primered 14 out of 110 picket boards. At this rate, it will take a little over two weeks just to primer and paint the boards! But, soon the kids will have a fenced yard to play in, so I won't have to be outside with them every time they head out to play. I'll probably do a post with before and after pics once the fences are complete.

Anyway, back to mother's Day...

I finally got someone else behind the camera and wrangled up my kids so I could get a photo with me and my 3 blessings.

My boys :)

See that pretty flower bouquet? Patrick made it in his Sunday school class. After class he brought it and showed it to me. I said, "Oh, it's beautiful Patrick. Did you make that? Is it for me?" He answered, "No, it's mine", then he ran back to class and returned with this:

"This one is yours mom. Happy Mother's Day!" Such a sweetie, huh? Later in the afternoon he brought me the big one and told me Happy Mother's Day and said it was for me, but we could share it. :)

Isn't it a nice feeling to have so much family in one place? And that grill looks pretty sweet.
