We're Back

We got home this evening from a trip to San Diego. It was a great vacation. We stayed with my Great Uncle William and Aunt Alice in Murrieta which is about an hour from San Diego. On Thursday, we went to the SD Zoo with Chuck's parents who were also on vacation in San Diego. We got to see a one week old giraffe!

Then, on Friday we went to Del Mar Beach on Camp Pendleton with William and Alice and my cousin Elaine and her daughters. It was weird being on the beach while they were doing their amphibious training and maneuvers right there. The water is so much warmer down there than at our beaches too. I wish Avila had warm water like that. Friday night we went swimming at the clubhouse. It was gorgeous out. Probably about 75 degrees at 9pm and the pool was so warm that it felt like bath water.

On our way home from SD, we stopped by the Getty Museum in LA. It was aweome. We are so glad we stopped. We saw some pieces that dated back to almost 500BC! And, we got to see paintings by Degas, Van Gough, and Monet. It was cool to see paintings in real life that I've only ever seen in art books. We will definitely be going back sometime to see more. They also have family fun days twice a year. Maybe next time we try for one of those.

While we were at William and Alice's, Patrick did his first traverse. He went from the coffee table to the couch with one step. He was still holding on with one hand to the table, but it is the first time he has let go of one object to "walk" to another. It amazes me how much he is learning lately.

Yeah for Patrick! What a fun vacation! I love the picture of him on the boogie board, too cute!
